My Approach

At the core of this therapy is the understanding that we begin life imbued with creativity, curiosity, and joy. As we navigate through life, we inevitably encounter moments of difficulty. To protect our sensitive core, we develop armours and sometimes dim parts of ourselves to gain acceptance from those we love. Over time, these defences can cause the vibrant life force we were born with to stagnate.

In our sessions, we slow down and create a safe space where all aspects of your being are welcomed and explored. Emotions, memories, and parts of you that have been neglected are given space to emerge. Through this approach, we endeavour to restore the natural flow of your life force, enabling you to fully engage with life and relationships in a more authentic and fulfilling manner.

Body Based Practices

Upon request, I incorporate body-based practices into our sessions. Our bodies possess an inherent intelligence that often becomes quieter as our thinking minds take over. There are times when talk therapy can be complemented by non-verbal techniques.

These might include breathing exercises to access emotions, movement and somatic tracking to release tension, and guided meditations to connect with the body and spirit. All of these options are available both in person and online.

A little about me

Core Process Psychotherapist

I grew up near the waters of the River Nile in Sudan, with roots in the Middle East. Having lived a nomadic life, I am now settled in London, where I run a private practice. I have a deep passion for issues related to identity, belonging, injustice, and the intersectionality of gender, spirituality, and politics.

I am a fully accredited psychotherapist, recognized by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). My specific training is in Core Process Psychotherapy, a mindfulness-based approach that integrates Western psychological theory with Buddhist philosophy and practice.

I am a certified yoga and meditation instructor, with an appreciation for mindfulness and embodiment practices. Mindfulness, refers to the practice of being fully present and engaged in the moment, aware of our thoughts and feelings without judgment. Embodiment practices focus on developing a deeper connection with our physical selves, recognising that our bodies hold wisdom and information that can be valuable in the therapeutic process. By combining these various approaches, I offer a holistic therapeutic experience that addresses the mind, body, and spirit, tailored to meet you.
